Training for staff in homeless services

Update April 2023: The Undergraduate Certificate in Homeless Prevention and Intervention Programme (QQI Level 8) for Key Workers/Case Managers and Frontline Services Staff is suspended for the 2023/24 academic year. The programme is expected to recommence in 2024. An update will be posted on the DRHE website in April 2024.

The Dublin Region Homeless Executive (DRHE) provides annual training options for statutory and state funded homeless services. This includes key workers/case managers and frontline staff involved in the assessment and placement of persons experiencing homelessness and service managers responsible for the management of these processes.

Accredited Programmes

Our accredited training programme; the Undergraduate Certificate in Homeless Prevention and Intervention Programme (QQI Level 8) for Key Workers/Case Managers and Frontline Services Staff commences in Dublin City University in September each year.

Up-to-date details of the current programmes and the application process are posted annually on the DRHE website in April .

Lectures for this programme take place in the School of Nursing and Human Sciences, Dublin City University, Collins Avenue, Glasnevin, Dublin 9.

Funding support towards programme fees is provided by the DRHE for successful applicants who work with DRHE funded organisations/services. Staff working in non state funded homeless organisations/services, homeless related organisations and local authorities outside of Dublin are eligible to apply for a place on the Dublin City University accredited programmes.
