Street Outreach

Street Outreach

The vision of the future is one where street outreach work is part of a respected, comprehensive, integrated, well co-ordinated and resourced service which effectively meets the needs of, and empowers, people who are homeless on the streets, or at risk of becoming homeless. The outreach services are immediately accessible and provide an effective link into a range of good quality accommodation and other relevant services.

The purpose of street outreach work is to improve the living conditions of homeless people on the street by making contact; building trusting relationships and enabling them to link into appropriate services so that they can move, at their own pace, into appropriate long term accommodation.

  1. Making contact
  2. Providing material resources
  3. Maintaining contact
