Key findings froma 6-year qualitative longitudinal study (phase 3)
This is a qualitative longitudinal study (part ii) of homeless young people in Dublin city. The research adopted a pathways approach and set out to document, record and understand temporal change in the homeless experience over time. A core
aim was to generate in-depth understanding of the process of youth homelessness, with a particular focus on young people’s trajectories into, through and out of homelessness. The study also aimed to inform policy relevant
recommendations related to service provision, early intervention and the prevention of negative outcomes.
Key findings from the first phase of research. This report provides a summary of key findings from the first of a two-phase longitudinal study of young homeless people in Dublin City. The research was initiated in September 2004 when 40 young people were recruited and interviewed in-depth during a six month period.
