and adopts a shared service approach across South Dublin County Council, Fingal County Council and Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.

Findings from the Rough Sleeper Count 2009

During the night of the rough sleeper count in November, 60 people were confirmed to be sleeping rough. This included 51 male, 6 female and 3 unknown.

 

The table below highlights the breakdown of the total figure:

Total 60

 

Of those who gave their details about their nationality, 23 were Irish or presumed Irish, 7 were Polish, 9 from other EU states, 8 from outside the EU and 13 were unknown.

 

Of those who gave details about their date of birth, 10 people were aged from 18-30, 8 people from 31-40, 9 people from 41-50, 7 people from 51-6, 4 people over 65 and the date of birth was unknown for 22 people.

 

On the night of the rough sleeper counts in the four local authority areas, there was sufficient capacity to accommodate the number of persons discovered and observed to be rough sleeping.
